Goodereads - App Redesign

Case Study Overview

Goodreads is a social cataloging app designed for book lovers to discover, track, and review books. It allows users to log and organize their reading by categorizing books as "Read," "Currently Reading," or "Want to Read." Based on reading history and ratings, the app provides personalized book recommendations. Users can also rate books on a 1-5 star scale and write reviews to help others decide what to read. Beyond tracking and reviewing, Goodreads fosters a sense of community through book clubs, discussion groups, and reading challenges. It also enables users to follow friends and favorite authors, keeping them updated on new releases, author Q&As, and literary events. Overall, Goodreads serves as a comprehensive platform for readers to explore books, connect with fellow book enthusiasts, and maintain a personal reading history.
